Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, experienced a $238 million loss in the second quarter as it redirected its efforts back toward the social media sector after previously venturing into cryptocurrency and other areas. Despite the financial setback, the company managed to generate $1.7 million in revenue during this period, which is more than twice the amount it reported at the same time last year.

The newly appointed CEO, Kevin McGurn, stated that the firm intends to allocate its resources predominantly towards strengthening its core social media operations. While the focus is on enhancing Truth Social, the company is also continuing with select projects, including a proposed merger with TAE Technologies, a company involved in nuclear fusion.

In addition, Trump Media unveiled the Truth API, a subscription-based service aimed at financial institutions. This service offers early access to posts from Donald Trump and other high-profile users of Truth Social. The pricing for this service ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 monthly and has already attracted ten clients, primarily composed of firms engaged in high-frequency trading.

By the end of the second quarter, Trump Media reported holding over $400 million in cash and short-term investments, supplemented by roughly $1.2 billion in bitcoin and associated assets. Alongside this, the company has about $1 billion in convertible note debt, set to mature in 2028.
